Threshold measurements of spectral sensitivity in a blue monocone monochromat.

چکیده
Threshold measurements of spectral sensitivity were obtained from a blue monocone monochromat using a foveal fixation target. The dark-adapted spectral sensitivity function could be represented by the luminosity function of the rods (CIE C\) weighted by xanthophyll. With a 6.2 troland (id) background the spectral sensitivity function was identical to that of the blue cones (Stiles iri) for wavelengths between 395 and 505 nm. With a 0.4-td background, a double-peaked function was obtained, representing the complete linear summation of the V\ function and blue cones. It is suggested that the V>. function obtained with a foveal fixation target is determined by cones and not rods.

Using Temperature of IR Sources for Assessing Photochemical and Aphakic Retinal Hazard
Introduction Blue light is a part of the spectrum with the highest energy content, which can reach the retina. The damage that it can cause to the retina is called photochemical or blue-light retinal injury. For the retinal injury assessment of the photochemical and aphakic retinal hazards in the wavelength range of 300-700 nm, use of effective spectral radiance limits (W.m-2.sr-1) seems to be ...

متن کاملPhotopic and scotopic flicker sensitivity of a rod monochromat.
The sensitivity to sine-wave flicker of a rod monochromat was compared with that of a normal subject at photopic and scotopic levels of luminance. The sensitivity of the rod monochromat in the low-frequency region (below 3 Hz at scotopic levels and below 12 to 14 Hz at photopic levels) was found to be superior to that of the control. This superiority was most pronounced at photopic levels, wher...
متن کاملResearches on a unilaterally blue-blinded rhesus monkey.
Psychophysical measures of hue (wavelength) discrimination and spectral sensitivity were collected over a 3-year-period on a rhesus monkey whose right eye had been exposed to intense blue light 10 years prior and had shown a pronounced loss of blue sensitivity in an increment-threshold, spectral-sensitivity task. Hue discrimination, to a somewhat greater degree than spectral sensitivity, reveal...
متن کاملPhotoreceptor Spectral Sensitivity in the Bumblebee, Bombus impatiens (Hymenoptera: Apidae)
The bumblebee Bombus impatiens is increasingly used as a model in comparative studies of colour vision, or in behavioural studies relying on perceptual discrimination of colour. However, full spectral sensitivity data on the photoreceptor inputs underlying colour vision are not available for B. impatiens. Since most known bee species are trichromatic, with photoreceptor spectral sensitivity pea...
